From Thursday, August 20th to Saturday evening, August 22nd, 2026, young people from across Denmark will gather in Nykøbing Mors for UNGKULT 2026, taking an active role in one of Denmark’s major cultural meeting places.

During the weekend, Nykøbing Mors will welcome politicians, local residents, organisations, schools, institutions and citizens from throughout Denmark for KulturMødet. The event creates a meeting place where ordinary citizens can speak directly with political representatives, municipalities, organisations and institutions about culture, society, young people and the future of Denmark.

But behind many of the activities is another important story: young people are not simply attending the event—they are helping make it happen.

Young People Behind the Festival

The UNGKULT program brings together young people from different parts of Denmark and gives them practical responsibility for creating and operating their own cultural environment.

Young volunteers help set up music events and concerts, participate in discussions, work behind the bars and in the kitchens, DJ, assist performers, move equipment and take care of many of the practical jobs required to keep a festival running.

Young people from IshøjUngdom will travel from Vestegnen to Nykøbing Mors to become part of this team.

For them, the journey is more than a trip to a festival. It is an opportunity to meet young people from other parts of Denmark, learn new skills and experience what can happen when young people are trusted with real responsibility.

Some will work with music production and media. Others will work in the bar or kitchen, DJ at events or help with equipment, logistics and general festival activities.

Everyone has a role.

Theme Dayz – Creating Music and Video Together

Youth leaders from Ishøj will also arrange Theme Dayz, a creative production program built around cooperation.

Young music producers, artists and media producers will work together with young people from the local area. Instead of simply talking about cooperation, they will create something together.

Artists who need help developing their music will have an opportunity to meet producers, record ideas and work on new songs. Media participants will document the process and produce video material with the artists.

The idea is simple: bring young creative people together, give them access to equipment, knowledge and experienced mentors, and see what they can create.

A song might begin in Nykøbing Mors and later be completed in Ishøj. A producer from Sjælland might meet an artist from Jylland. A young camera operator might meet musicians who need videos for future releases.

Those relationships can continue long after the festival has ended.

Building Bridges Across Denmark

This is also one of the larger ambitions behind the UNGKULT 2026 journey.

The goal is not only to help UNGKULT successfully arrange the weekend’s activities. It is to begin building stronger cooperation between young people and youth organisations in Jylland, Fyn and Sjælland.

Youth clubs, associations, cultural organisations, municipalities and educational institutions often have their own resources, facilities and talented young people. Connecting those networks could create opportunities that would be difficult for one organisation to provide alone.

A young musician from one municipality could visit a studio in another. DJs could perform at youth events in different regions. Young media producers could document festivals. Dancers, athletes and artists could participate in exchanges, workshops and performances.

In this way, UNGKULT can become more than an annual event. It can become a meeting point for a larger Danish youth network built around creativity, responsibility and positive activities.

The program has been made possible through support from a range of funds, banks and other partners investing in opportunities for young people.

Ishøj All-Stars Take the Stage

Music will naturally play an important part in the weekend, with talented young performers arriving from around Denmark.

Among them will be Ishøj All-Stars, a collective of young artists connected to Ishøj and other municipalities across Copenhagen’s Vestegnen.

The All-Stars are not a traditional band with a fixed lineup. They are a growing collective. Artists participate when their schedules and the individual events allow, meaning that every performance can have a slightly different combination of singers, rappers, DJs and performers.

One of the leading young performers is Divine Listic, joined by artists including James Njombua, Naabs, MatB, Lau Larsen, 2Sez, Saint Kairo, Young Greed, Mateusz Fratczak, Kristian Rawson, W1MA, Cracker and Yasin Sommer, alongside other members of the growing All-Stars family.

Not every artist will make the journey to every performance, but that is part of the concept. The lineup can change while the collective continues to represent a new generation of artists coming from Vestegnen and beyond.

The DJs Behind the Music

The artists also travel with young DJs and mentors who help bring the performances together.

DJ Reas, also known as Andreas Rasmussen, is one of the leaders of the music program, with assistance from Ehssan Fatah, DJ Daniel Ø and DJ Ray Andres.

Their role extends beyond playing music. The DJs and mentors help young performers prepare, coordinate music for the shows and give less-experienced participants an opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes of a live event.

It creates another layer of the UNGKULT philosophy: young people learning from each other while experienced mentors remain close enough to provide guidance when it is needed.

More Than a Weekend

When the equipment is packed away on Saturday evening, the most important result of UNGKULT 2026 may not be a particular concert, discussion or song.

It may be the connections created during those three days.

A young producer from Ishøj meeting an artist from Jylland. A volunteer learning how to work behind a festival bar. A young DJ performing for a new audience. A politician hearing directly from young people. A local artist recording a new song. Youth workers from opposite sides of Denmark discovering that they share many of the same ambitions.

UNGKULT 2026 is about giving young people a place at the table—and also giving them responsibility for building the table, setting the stage and creating what happens next.

From Nykøbing Mors to Ishøj, from Jylland to Fyn and Sjælland, the weekend represents an opportunity to build a stronger network for youth culture in Denmark.

The festival lasts three days.

The cooperation can last much longer.
